about

This is a remake recorded in my home studio

lyrics

We were just out on the final frontier
Seeking strange new life both far and near
Everything seemed calm and routine
Then all at once to our surprise
a strange figure caught our eyes
Appearing before us there on the main view screen

He started to scream, he started to yell,
He started to talk about heaven and hell
Like nothing we had ever heard before
I said, “Mr. Spock, can you identify?”
and he answered me without batting an eye
“Sir, it’s that crazy evangelist from Rigel 4.”

“Now let me see if I’ve got this right,
it seems he’s bought a satellite
And now he’s preaching all over space
I know this may sound hard to believe
but according to the report I’ve just received
It says that even Klingons are getting saved”

Chorus
‘Cause no matter where you are, no matter where you go
If your way up in space or down here below
The Word of God will find you, on that you can depend
So, if you want to live long and prosper, I suggest that you repent

Well, his signal came in loud and strong
and I tell ya friends, it wasn’t long
Before his preaching filled up the Enterprise
Then one by one reports came in
of how the crew had turned from sin
And all of them had teardrops in their eyes

I chanced a glance at Doctor McCoy
and his face was all lit up with joy
I said, “Bones, Bones, Bones, what have you done?”
He said, “I know I’m just a country doc
but I just laid hands on Mr. Spock
And now that pointy-eared dude speaks in tongues!”

I thought that was all a bunch of baloney
until I heard Scotty’s testimony
With special music by Chekov and Sulu
And like a phasor set to stun
I was hit by a wave of conviction
So, I knelt down and became a Christian too!

Chorus
‘Cause no matter where you are, no matter where you go
If your way up in space or down here below
The Word of God will find you, on that you can depend
So, if you want to live long and prosper, I suggest that you repent
If you and to live long and prosper I suggest that you repent
If you want Jesus to beam you up I suggest that you repent
